Maastricht Photo Festival 2019

Last Sunday I visited the Maastricht Photo Festival together with Jack, Ger and Rolf. Exhibitions were set up at various locations in the city center. We found the most interesting exhibition by the young photographer David Peskens (Limburg). He exhibits his photos in his camper. With this camper he and his girlfriend travelled 17.000 kilometers along the external borders of the former Soviet Union and Yugoslavia. More information about this talented photographer can be found at www.davidpeskens.com and check also: https://www.hasselblad.com/masters/2016/david-peskens/

Maastricht Photo Festival: the ambition of the festival is to encourage diversity and creativity, with the aim to explore the limits of a traditional photography festival. The program includes photo lectures, workshops, portfolio reviews, guided tours, photo talks, indoor and outdoor exhibitions and locations that are inviting to residents of Maastricht, tourists and photography enthusiasts of all ages. The festival wants to offer a platform for photography in the South and connect people through the “lens-based arts”. After the first biennial, the program will continue with photography-related events.

Jack, Rolf, Ger and I share the same passion for photography and got to know us a long time ago. Jack’s online portfolio can be found at: www.jackburger.nl and Rolf has recently placed some photos from his portfolio online and will expand them in the future. Rolf’s portfolio can be found at: www.rolfschins.nl
