Hiking in Monschau and Christmas market

At the weekend it is time to relax and what could be better than to spend a day walking in nature. With friends we drove to Monschau and walked a nice trail of almost 15 kilometers.

Monschau is a small village in the German Eifel and in some places there was even some snow left. Halfway through the walk we went to a typical German nostalgic restaurant (Gasthaus Perlbacher Mühle) where we had a simple but excellent meal and it reminded us all of the past. On the menu we had a nice fresh broth soup, then a tasty schnitzel (and salad) with handmade french fries and at the end a delicious dessert (rice pudding).

At the end of the trail we enjoyed the cozy Christmas market that was opened this weekend. A wonderful day outdoors with my girlfriend and our good friends Bart and Monique (and dog Finn).
